Contractor Screening

AXM Employment provides a professional and confidential contractor screening service to local mines. This involves reference checking contractors and conducting a behavioural interview to better evaluate attitudes to safety, conflict and fatigue. This service is used as part of the induction process.

The intention of the Contractor Screening is to increase the standard of behaviour of contractors that work at your site. This is done by minimising the chance of below standard behaviour being introduced to the site, by careful selection of contractors with a particular focus on Health, Safety, Environment and Community issues.

Behavioural interviewing is based on the theory that the best indicator of future performance is past performance. This interviewing method is based on discovering how the contractor acted in specific employment-related situations. The behavioural interview technique is used by AXM Employment as part of the screening process to evaluate a contractor’s experiences and behaviours in order to determine their suitability for working on site. The interviewer identifies desired skills and behaviours, using a developed interview guide that comprises open-ended questions to elicit detailed responses.
